The aim of this study is to determine the figure playing the director or manager of a long-lived family business. For this purpose, it was used the instrument designed by Deshpande, Farley and Webster. The unit of analysis is the Veracruzanas family businesses located in Veracruzanas the metropolitan area of Veracruz-Boca del Rio. The findings suggest that in this group of family businesses with more than 25 years of activity, they match counting on leaders and entrepreneurial organizations, innovative with ability to take risks and be willing to change.
