Abstract

This study is a research about relationship between people, place and activity which are ingredients of cultural assets. Cultural assets devides to two parts which aretangible and intangible heritage, both of them should be developed toghether because they have relationship interdependedly and robustly. The research method used in this study was the Cultural Resource Framework (CRF) which is the process of identifying and documenting cultural heritage resources by creating a GIS data base. This is a good approach to study in this area and similar historical locations because it produces a comprehensive view to all sides of the issue. This study has been done in old tissue of sari, a city in the North of Iran where has a special culture and is confronting big changes of modern life which are destroying traditions and vernacular culture. This research showed cultural heritage should be developed in physical and unphysical dimensions parallely and this method would be suitable because of its comprehensive view.
