Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine relationship of manager’s character with employee’s commitment and trust towards the organization in a management and planning organization. The researcher identified the dimensions manager’s character based on the existing literature and proposed a conceptual model to test the hypothesized relationships. Conceptual framework was tested by structural equation modeling. A sample of 218 people employed in management and planning organization was selected by convenience sampling approach. A self-administrated questionnaire was used to collect data. The results showed that good character dimensions including faith, justice, temperance, wisdom, love and courage were positively associated with organizational trust. Further organizational trust had a significant influence on commitment to the organization. This is the first attempt at explicating the good character of manager’s in describing employee’s commitment and trust towards organization.
