The study deals with the international legal aspect of the concept of a decent living standard. Attention was paid to its most important components as well as the experience of different countries on their constitutional formalization. Arguments have been offered in favor of that a decent living standard is a legal instrument toprovide security of social foundations of the constitutional order.
