In study the main approaches and achievements in studying of Late Antiquity transitional time from Antiquity to the Middle Ages in Russia are considered. An attempt to light activity of the leading scientists and their research as well as activities of various regional schools for Late Antiquity and history of early Byzantium studying is made. Researchers of the study come to a conclusion that in Russia there was no uniform understanding of this transitive era and experts prefer to work on regional material of either the Latin West or the Greek East. Besides, the format of antiquity and Byzantium-researchers, medievalists complicates integrative researches.
