Abstract

The complexes of Mn (II) aminobenzoates of the form [Mn(ABzt)2X2], {Abzt = o-NH2C6H4COO- X = C6H5NH2, C6H5NHCH3, C6H5N(CH3)2 C6H5N and p-NH2C5H4N} have been synthesized and characterized by microanalysis room temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements infrared and electronic reflectance spectral studies. In the complexes studied, some weak bands were observed in the region 26,000-29,000 and 18,000-19,000 cm 1. These have been assigned to the 6A1g(G) 4T2g(G)and 6A1g(G) 4T1g(G) transitions, respectively. This pair is highly indicative of an octahedral geometry.
