The Influence of Gratitude Training in Increasing The Subjective Well-Being of Parents of Down Syndrome Children

Abstract

This research seeks to discover the influence of gratitude training in increasing the subjective well-being of parents of Down syndrome children. The subjects in this study are six parents who have Down syndrome children a SLB Negeri 2 Yogyakarta The data in this study uses the scale of subjective well-being the research scale is based on the Likert scale model with four alternative answers. The data obtained was analyzed using Wilcoxon analysis. The results of data analysis shows the difference index (z) of the pre-test and post-test is Z score = -2.214 with the significance level of the pretest and post-test score of p = 0.027 (p<0.05), meaning that it is significant and that the hypothesis can be accepted. This explains that there is a difference in subjective well-being before and after the training and saw an increase after being given gratitude training. The research results show that there is a significant influence on the improvement of subjective well-being when given treatment in the form of gratitude training.
