In this study, we present the design of a fuzzy logic supervisor for the control of the generated powers of a Hybrid Energy Production Unit (HEPU). This HEPU comprises two sources solar/diesel, a flywheel storage system and a load. The exceeded generated power than required by the load is diverted towards a pump. The diesel generator is assumed to be equipped with both voltage-control and frequency-control loops. This diesel engine is associated to a synchronous generator and only requested as a last resort. The purpose of the fuzzy logic supervisor is to guarantee the required load power under irradiation level variations. The performances of the combined production unit are analyzed for the case of a real load. The accuracy of the presented model and the effectiveness of the proposed multivariable supplementary fuzzy supervisor are confirmed by simulation results.
