Ibn Sina (famously known as Avicenna 980-1037 A.D) was a well-known physician, philosopher, encyclopaedist, mathematician and astronomer of his time. He also served as a politician, governor and administrator. His book the Canon of Medicine is one of the most famous books in the history of medicine. Ibn Sina emphasized the importance of anatomy in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
