Abstract
Ombudsman is relatively an unfamiliar term to as general but it is widely used and practiced technique of ensuring administrative accountability and transparency in the western developed countries .An Ombudsman though has enormous prestige, power and responsibility but he hasn`t any legal power except to inquire In these article we have focused on the Ombudsman in different countries .We have tired to highlight about the Ombudsman office, establishment, term Appointment Functions of Ombudsman. In the Bangladesh context politics and attitude of the government towards political opposition Ombudsman is better to be appointed by the president on the consensus of all political parties in the parliament to ensure impartiality and objectivity in his investigation and in our article we have discussed in brief about the aforesaid points.
