Abstract
In this study, we discuss the working mechanism of MSN, analyze its security threats, and point out how its vulnerability be exploited to compromise the security of a system. A live instance is produced in this study to illustrate impersonating and hijacking attack against MSN instant messaging. Some solutions are offered also to mitigate the threats including building secure instant messaging communication.
