AB - The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of political behavior in performance appraisals and distributive justice on job satisfaction using self-report questionnaires gathered from employees at a government linked postal company in East Malaysia, Borneo island. The outcomes of stepwise regression analysis showed two important findings; firstly, relationship between motivational motive and distributive justice significantly correlated with job satisfaction. Secondly, relationship between punishment motive and distributive justice significantly correlated with job satisfaction. Statistically, this result confirms that distributive justice does act as a mediating variable in the relationship between political behavior in performance appraisals and job satisfaction in the studied organization.
