AB  - This study deals with the development of an alternative loading and shipping layout for a major chlorine and soda caustic producer in the U.S. Two simulation models, one of the current system and the other of the proposed layout were then constructed to estimate the potential manufacturing gains from the new layout. Finally, a statistical analysis of the simulation outputs justified the implementation of the proposed layout.
