AB  - An index of management efficiency in road transport  production is formed for each of 5 important cities in Eastern part of Nigeria for transport of large enough size for the functions of management and labour to be separated.  The index is introduced as a variable in the production function and reveals distinct differences between the cities in the scope of improving management efficiency.
