AB  - This study presents an adaptive control for interfacing Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) to utility grid based on Model Predictive Control (MPC). The proposed system mainly consists of a wind turbine which drives an induction generator. The generator is connected to the utility grid through DC-Link. The main control objective aims to regulate the DC link voltage and to track and extract maximum available wind power. This is accomplished via controlling the firing angles of the rectifier and the inverter. The MPC controller is based on the minimization of a cost function of voltage and power errors while respecting the given constraints. The performance of the wind generation system with the proposed MPC controller has been tested through a step change in reference input power. Simulation results confirm that good dynamic performance of the proposed wind energy scheme has been achieved.
