AB  - This study is a needs analysis study designed to identify the learning need of year one students in Colleges of Education in Nigeria. The data collected will enable the lecturers to address specific areas of need of these students during teaching so as to produce students who are proficient in the language. Among the factors identified as posing problems are speaking skills, writing skills, grammar and others.
