AB  - This study presents a new method, which combines cultural algorithms and a fuzzy clustering technique to improve the performance of cultural algorithms in multimodal optimization. Based on the metaphor of social environment principles, this model promotes the formation and maintenance of populations and implements the concept of cultural exchanges among them. Computer simulations show good performance for several multimodal test functions.
