AB - The objective of this study is to evaluate, as a case study, the economic-environmental evaluation, more frequently referred to as eco-efficiency, of a sugar production company in Thailand. The comparison of the eco-efficiency between raw sugar production and refined sugar production was the key objective of this study. Firstly, the inventory data collection of sugar productions, both raw and refined sugar, were collected on-site at the selected factory. Secondly, an environmental Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of both sugar productions was carried out. The study was based on the Eco-indicator 99. Finally, the eco-efficiencies were compared. Overall, the results of the study show that the refined sugar production generated more environmentally harmful impacts than the raw sugar production and the eco-efficiency of raw sugar production was preferable to refined sugar production.
