AB  - The purpose of this research explain the effect of environmental knowledge concerning community
behavior in improving the health status of environment surrounding Bosowa Maros Mine. This type of
research is done by using survey research. The research location is communities surrounding Bosowa Mine,
Bantimurung District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. More specifically the main locus of research
is the people who residing nearby the mining activities area where the activity of mining cement of Bosowa
Mine is done. The technique of data analysis is done by using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results
of this study indicate that there are effects of environmental knowledge of the behavior of the community in
improving environmental health status (direct effect) while the effect on the attitude of environmental
knowledge in managing the environment (indirect effect).
