AB - In medical imaging, object enhancement and segmentation, the
impulse noise is occurred by affecting the original pixel values. The effective
denoising techniques are required for the image processing applications to remove
the impulse noise. Researchers have proposed a Pseudo Random algorithm for detection
and removal of impulse noises in images. In this research, Edge Preserving methodology
is proposed to detect the impulse noise affected pixels in a simplified manner
and those detected pixels are removed using cloud algorithm. The extensive experimental
results show that the proposed technique preserves the edge pixels and achieves
better performances in terms of quantitative evaluation and visual quality.
The proposed simulation results prove that the methodology has better performance
than the existing methodology for impulse noise detection and removal.
