AB - Skin plays a crucial role in protecting the human body against the infections, environment and dehydration. Skin contains two main layers: a keratinized, stratified epidermis and an underlying thick layer of collagen-rich dermal connective tissue. Loss of large portions of skin integrity from wounds, burns or disease may result in significant disabilities or even death. So, treatment of skin injuries by wound management, skin transplantation and stem cell therapy can largely protect the patient from various bad outcomes. However, treatment of skin injuries has been a challenging task for surgeons because of multiple limitations. Allogenic and autologous keratinocyte grafts, accellular biological matrices and cellular matrices including biological substances are different forms of tissue-engineering skin injuries treatments.
