AB - The main research hypothesis of this article is
put forward based on the analysis of numerous archive
documents (19-beginning of the 20 cc). According to it,
the Kazakh society underwent a significant transformation
in the colonial period. Changes have affected all spheres
of Kazakh’s life and include new phenomena in social
relations when perceptions about the role and place of
women in traditional society are changing. This leads to
growth of women’s role, increase of attempts to protect
their ‘women’ rights by submitting claims to the Russian
colonial administration of various levels.
