AB - This study discusses the design and implementation of a tool for translating a natural language software specification into a formal specification. The input to the tool are basic information about the system to be specified and a statement describing the specification of the system written in the Malay language. This language is widely spoken in South East Asia. The basic information is used as the basic knowledge about the system. By using this basic knowledge, a specification statement will be translated and semantically interpreted in order to produce an equivalent statement in Z.
