AB - The availability of high-speed networks and high-performance Microprocessors is making networks of computers an appealing vehicle for cost-effective internet and business computing. Clusters of computers built using commodity hardware and software are playing a major role in web server design and E-Commerce. Businesses need fast computing environments to quickly process the voluminous transactions and to respond to market requirements. Most companies cannot afford the cost of a supercomputer. The paper describes how cluster computing can be exploited for solving many complex real world business applications in a wide variety of industries for e-commerce.
