AB  - This paper presents a parsing method with sort information added to the word entries of a lexicon to distinguish one word from another, though they have the same category such as noun phrase. The approach we adopt to syntax is that of categorical grammar having an established connection to the higher logics through type theory. It encodes linguistic sort knowledge in a well-understood and efficient way, justifying its further exploration in the wider context of research on other grammar formalism.
