AB  - The phenotypic and genotypic characterization of the two local Sudanese strains of P. multocida subspecies multocida used in vaccine production was studied. They were similar phenotypically with slight variations in sugars fermentation. They were identical to each other and to P. multocida subspecies gallicida (fowl pathogen) in the partial 16S rDNA sequence.
