abstract = {The research was carried out to determine the growth performance
of 84 day old Hubbard broiler chicks on various levels of supplemental Vernonia
Amygdalina (VA). Four treatments were used including the control which had
0 g VA, treatments two, three and four had 300, 600 and 900 g VA, respectively
as an additive in both the starter and finisher diets. The results of the growth
performance showed that there were no differences (p>0.05) among all the
growth performance parameters analyzed. Broilers on V300 and V900 showed increased
feed intake and feed conversion ratio, respectively. There was decreased mortality
in broilers fed V600 diet.}
