    abstract = {The objective of this research is to investigate
experimentally the behavior of high strength steel fiber
reinforced concrete beams in shear, for predicting the
shear strengths of these structural members. In the
experimental program, the volume fraction of fiber was
considered in order to determine its effect on the
specimen strength. The studied parameter includes
volume fraction of fibers (0, 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75%) at shear
span to depth ratio (a/d) of 1.5. The elastic behavior of
tested beams at flexural zone was also investigated.
Experimental results indicated that the shear strength of
tested beams was significantly increased as the volume
fraction of steel fibers increased. The number of the
cracks increased by using discrete steel fibers and become
finer. Moreover, the crack propagation and modes of
failure may be changed by using discrete steel fibers.
Finally, the discrete steel fibers increase ductility and
failure loads of the tested beams.}
