    abstract = {This study presents the scholarly basis for this study. It reviews literature on transportation system,
this study also presents the range of information technologies used in transportation industry and their roles
in building a modern transportation system. The need for and the viability of implementing IoT and
big data-enabled in transportation system is argued with highlights of the prospects and challenges of the
implementation process. This study also presents the methodology that will be used to gather data to see how
big data and IoT have influenced the transportation domain.The potential benefits and issues of IoT and big
data analytics in transportation systems are presented to give an understanding for the need for a unified
framework for IoT and big data implementation in the transportation domain. Outcome from this research will
be a proposed framework for big data analytics and internet of things-oriented transportation System.}
