abstract = {Among several equations to predict suspended sediment concentration profiles, Rouse equation can
be considered as the most popular one. Rouse equation is based on logarithmic velocity distribution
of 2-Dimensional flow that relatively similar to the flow characteristics at the center of channel. This study
discuss on whether the Rouse’s equation can be used to predict the profiles of suspended-sediment
concentration within transversal direction from inner bank to the outer bank of an open-channel bends. The
study was carried out based on the measurement of field data at 3 locations in Mataram irrigation channel. The
results show that the Rouse equation can satisfactorily be used to predict the profiles of suspended-sediment
concentration, especially for the center of channel bend. For the other position at transversal directions need
tobe evaluated.}
