    abstract = {A new detection algorithm is proposed for images that are corrupted by Random Valued Impulse Noise. In all the existing detection algorithms, the drawback encountered is &#145;Misdetection of noise-free pixels&#146; The proposed algorithm eliminates misdetection of noise free pixels till 90% noise density. In filtering stage, fuzzy switching median filter is used to replace the detected noisy pixels. Simulation results reveals that Proposed algorithm works better than other state-of-the-art detection algorithms.}
