    abstract = {Bibliometric methods were used to analyze publications from
  the Web of Science on Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in the past 18 years.
  Results showed that although PPR is now a widespread and serious disease in
  many developing countries, the total number of articles on PPR is only 342.
  The research indicates that more basic studies should be done on the PPR and
  differentiating infected from vaccinated animals vaccines which would be important
  to prevent the disease. Moreover, collaborations among authors, institutions
  and countries as well as good financial support are the keys to control or even
  eradicate PPR.}
