One of them is done by the use of facial mapping which involves the use of antemortem photographs and comparison with the postmortem skull. The current techniques are: morphological comparison, photoanthropometry or photogrammetry and photographic superimposition. Despite the fact that these techniques are complex and substain a variety of technical restrictions, they are widely approved and applied.
