Using cre/loxp system, researchers got oocyte specific knockout ggpps mice. Mutation of ggpps resulted in abnormality of follicular development, granulosa cell premature luteinization, theca cell hypertrophy and multi-oocyte follicles. Interaction of oocyte and granulosa cell was also changed. Oocyte-specific knockout of ggpps mice was acquired. Follicles grew abnormally in ggpps mutation mice.
