According to the assumptions of the institutional theory, a case study of descriptive and qualitative approach was carried out. Data were collected from semi-structured interview, newspapers articles, websites, organizational documents and government agencies’ documents. For the treatment of data, content analysis was used. The results obtained highlighted a close link between the characteristics of organizational identity and the predominant implementation of strategic responses of acquiescence and compromise by the hospital during that specific period.
