This study also aimed to address why individuals in leadership positions fail to lead according to their own personal values and how this influences decision-making. A qualitative research approach and purposive sampling was employed. Data were collected through 15 semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis was used for analysing the data. The findings were that value systems have an impact on how a leader deals with problems in the different situations that arise within the day-to-day operations of the organisation. ER -
