A causal model capturing the relationships between two user personal characteristics (user experience and computer attitude) and three criterion variables (perceived computer related task difficulty, user information system satisfaction, and overall user performance) is tested empirically in an academic setting. LISREL analysis shows that computer experience has a significant direct effect on task difficulty and performance. Computer attitude shows a significant direct effect on task difficulty and user information system satisfaction but non-significant effect on performance. Implications and research directions are discussed. ER -
