Significant (p< 0.01) elevations in Packed Cell Volume (PCV), Red Blood Cell (RBC), Haemoglobin (Hb) and total White Blood Cells (WBC) were observed immediately after ridging exercise. Insignificant (p>0.05) decreases were observed in Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin (MCH) and Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin Concentration (MCHC). Neutrophilia, lymphocytopenia and eosinopenia were demonstrated indicating stress. There were also significant (p< 0.01) increases in chloride, Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), creatinine and total protein, while bicarbonate levels decreased immediately after work. ER -
