This study examines the effect of Tacit knowledge, explicit knowledge, knowledge acquisition, knowledge dissemination and knowledge utilization on knowledge mnagement sstem (kms) and the effect of kms on effective decision-making among the manufacturing SMEs in East Coast Malaysia. This study adopts the cross-sectional design and quantitative methods and collects data from 141 randomly selected SMEs from Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu States. Findings of this study reveal that tacit knowledge, explicit knowledge, knowledge dissemination and knowledge utilization have a significant positive effect on KMS and KMS has a significant positive effect on effective decision making among the manufacturing SMEs in East Coast Malaysia. Manufacturing SMEs in Malaysia should therefore focus on improving the knowledge management system for effective decision-making.} }
