The major source of power supply in Nigeria is through the National grid provided by power holding company of Nigeria and small contribution from independent power production IPP. Two rivers were used as a case study Ikpoba river in Benin City and Ibiekuma stream in Ekpoma, the catchments area, hydrograph and flow duration curve of the rivers were investigated. The results obtained from the investigation reveals that electrical power energy can be obtained from the rivers for the purpose of rural telephony and infrastructural development.
