The main objective of selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation strategy is eliminating low-order harmonics by solving non-linear equations. In order to obtain the corresponding switching angles of a eleven-level cascaded H-bridge inverter, a PSO algorithm has been developed to solve the non-linear equations. This proposed PSO algorithm is effective in reducing the total harmonic distortion of cascaded H-bridge eleven level inverter. The simulation results has been carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK and prove that the PSO algorithm converges successfully to the global solution faster than other algorithms.
