However, some experiences emotional extremes in moods and disturbed their normal life. Individuals who have depression at times and mania or hypomania at others are called manic-depressive and the combination is known as Manic-Depressive Psychosis (MDP). This study attempts to look at bipolar disorder and Manic-Depressive Psychosis (MDP) from the Western approaches as well as from the Islamic point of view.
