Isopropyl alcohol was reacted with hydrochloric acid where chlorine substituted hydroxyl group in the alcohol. This chlorinated propyl was peroxidated using hydrogen peroxide to produce propylene glycol in a two stage reaction. Observation from product yield showed a profound yield of propylene glycol when chloropropane was peroxide by hydrogen peroxide at a temperature of 4°C and a flow rate of 2.5 mL min-1.
