It traces the origin of many crops prevalent in Africa as a product of slave trade and European voyages of the West to Africa or preferably the imperial world. Against this background, the colonial era severed relations in sex and gender by further segregating between cash and food crops thus relegating the later as economically unviable. Be that as it may the independent African states as examined introduced strategies to checkmate food crisis yet elements of national insincerity and the presence of neo imperialist agencies remains a hydra monster Africa must address.
