Uyo has a density of 2091 km-2. Poverty in Uyo hits mostly young people of ages 10-20 years as most of them refuse to learn trade, practice any occupation or go to school. There is also presence of child labour. Causes of child labour include disproportional distribution of income, show of laziness and unwillingness to learn trade. Therefore, government among other things should provide good infrastructure and quality type of education, making it possible for every child of school age to attend school and in turn, reduce poverty.
