If ISEs produced by Orion Research are universally recognized, other manufactured electrodes are cheaper and easy to supply; some electrodes can be prepared in the laboratory. These electrodes must be tested under well-defined criteria. Results scattering in the scientific study and variability of analytic conditions in each specific case, make it difficult the direct exploitation of the results accumulated by other researchers. So, a systematic survey of some ISEs to be applied later in water pollution checking is suggested. This study account for the more or less facility of use, the sensitivity limits, the interferences find and describe the titration procedures developed. ER -
