Kuan-kuan is a proverb which usually discusses the habits of the Karo people in everyday life, both in giving advice to the younger, particularly to the bride and groom at a wedding ceremony. In addition, it also describes the work of Karo society in general as well as the nature or character of the Karo people. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method which means to provide an overview of behavior and character of Karo society in general through proverb in Kuan-kuan. Analysis of the data used in the processing of this data is interwoven flow analysis model which consists of three component, they are before, during and after the collection of data in parallel. Karo people possess an honesty and bold, confident, shy not greedy and know their rights, irritability and resentment. ER -
