The existence theory suggests that entrepreneur’s internal personality the orientation and the support received from government plays an important role in determining the performance of their firms. Data were collected through a national survey from owners and senior managers of small-to medium-sized Malaysian companies. This study discusses different types of personal characteristics of entrepreneurs with specific analysis on the influence of entrepreneurial orientation and received assistance from government support program on firm’s performance.
