Today, many developing countries have entered a new regional integration agreement with developed countries and other countries, in other words, opened their markets to foreign direct investment. this study examines the interaction between trade integration and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Iran. We consider Iran trade integration with selected groups of countries, including EU Member, the Union of South-East Asia (ASEAN), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and D8 Organization. estimated results indicated that the trade flows and foreign direct investment has a direct and significant relationship to each other so, increasing trade flows resulted in an increase in foreign direct investment.
