An emergency abdominal ultrasound scan excluded an extrauterine pregnancy but, there was massive free fluid in the peritoneal cavity and an enlarged spleen. Exploratory laparotomy confirmed a torted spleen with bleeding from a tiny tear in the splenic vein into the peritoneal cavity and an enlarged spleen. Splenectomy was performed. Patient however, went into labuor on the 3rd postoperative day and was delivered of a female stillborn. ER -
